Physical copy of the album 'Raga Poems' featuring liner notes, photos and insert booklet with the lyrics of the poems. My first time designing a CD package!
Physical Albums
With liner notes and original artwork by 'Esk' Evan Wilson. This run of CDs was printed by Gaiaka Media Works in Mumbai, India in 2017.
This album is dedicated to tabla maestro Pt. Subhash Nirwan, whose magical appearance in my life opened the doors to Indian music by providing me with my teacher, Dr. Ranjan Kumar, and some of my closest musical companions.
Here, the Indian slide guitar is presented in many different settings; from traditional, to fusion and beyond. In no other recording will you hear the slide guitar playing a duet with the handpan, used as the carrier with a vocoder or in a fusion of Carnatic South Indian music and middle eastern drumming. It is a labor of love, recorded in India and in the US with world class musicians from around the globe.
Please accept my musical offering, play it far and wide, may it bring you peace, joy, strength and inspiration in all that you do. credits released February 15, 2017

Beautiful full-color digipak designed by my brother-in-law Sumeru Salla. This version of 'Milap' includes a special bonus track from the same year, 'Dhun in Mishra Bhairavi' recorded live at Stone Church Arts in Vermont. This print is the first time any of the music is being released on CD.
Full color, digipak "light" case with liner notes printed inside. Artwork designed by Sumeru Salla 'Design & Story'. Printed by Atomic Discs in the USA 2018.
My first album of slide guitar music :) . 'Eco-pak sleeve' printed by Atomic Discs in the USA in 2015 with photography by Shanta LE and art design by Peter Eisenkramer.
We printed these ourselves in preparation for our 2019 Europe tour with art design by Sumeru Salla. We only made 100 and almost all them sold during our concerts, with these few exceptions. The CD is the only version of the album that features Kees van Boxtel's 'Dance of the Swans' with tabla by Pt. Parthasarathi Mukherjee. Thin jewel case, no back label, very limited supply.

Purchase access to the full HD concert recording of our June 12, 2021 live-streaming concert for Halcyon Arts. This was a very special concert, the first time that I was performing with a tabla player after the pandemic, about a year and a half. It was also a reunion with my friend Mir, our faces and the music are full of smiles.
The full concert is about an hour and a half and is a guided concert of north Indian classical music: in addition to performing, we explain and demonstrate some aspects of this wonderful music to enlighten the listeners.
Set list includes…
Raga Bhimpalasi, compositions by Pt. Alok Lahiri in jhaptaal (10 beats) and teental (16 beats)
Jai Love, dhun in Raga Desh
Tabla solo and tarana in raga Bhairavi
"North Indian classical music uses the unique musical form of the 'raga' or 'raag' to stir the emotions of the audience and performers, moving them towards a state of focused joy and harmony. Joel and Mir, both seasoned performers in the art form, present a concert of North Indian music with explanation and demonstration to guide listeners in an understanding and appreciation of the form and substance of the music." - from hartsne.org
